What is an online test proposed by DU?
- DU is thinking of conducting an online ‘Open Book’ examination for the final semester students in the month of July.
- The ”open-book” examination mode would allow the students to refer to books, notes and other study materials to answer the questions.
- Students will download the question papers for their respective course from the web portal sitting at their home and upload the answers.
- 8 questions will be sent to students and they will have to answer 4 of them by uploading a five-minute video clip in response.
Why do students oppose it?
- The students live in areas where there are network connectivity issues and many of them might be good in writing but not fluent in speaking.
- A dearth of laptops and computers are among the major concerns being raised by the students.
- Even if the resources are there, many students are not equipped to operate the systems.
